ISO 12945-1 and ISO 12945-2 method update

ISO 12945-1 and ISO 12945-2 on resistance to pilling have been updated: pilling, fuzzing and matting are now assessed separately.

Pipette and laboratory glassware

Lanartex would like to inform you that, since December 2020, some tests for resistance to pilling according to ISO 12945-1 and ISO 12945-2 have been updated. As an accredited laboratory, Lanartex is required to update its methods within 3 months of the new standards coming into force: from April it will no longer be possible to perform the test to the previous revision.

There is, however, some good news in all this!

The main difference between the two versions is that the assessment is split across the 3 elements observed: pilling, fuzzing and matting. The information obtained in this way can be communicated far more effectively in commercial terms, and it also gives a more precise indication of the actual performance of your articles.

We invite you to contact our customer service for further commercial clarification, so that you can give your counterparts all the relevant information.
